How To Initiate Port-Forwarding On My Router


Are you getting trouble while connecting to a Wi-Fi network? Or Are your browser or multiplayer games fail to connect to an internet? Then your issues may be a blocked port on your router which is so easy to fix up. Just imagine your router as well and your port as a door which will only send the useful information like web page, games or other internet facilities whereas it is always will be closed for the unwanted programs. But however, in some cases, a user must give authentication to the router to open up the specific port so that the program won’t be blocked.

Port forwarding helps to enter external devices to go in through the router’s firewall so that the user can access the particular program like gaming or any other programming applications.

Here let see about how to initiate port forwarding on your Belkin Wireless Router Support,
Before starting up the process, the user must ensure that they have the following needs,

·         IP Address - of your device or your computer to initiate port forward, and to gain more information refer our page
·         Port numbers – port numbers to be used in the initiating process and whether they are TCP or UDP ports
·         Router – that must have a connection with the computer with the help of Ethernet cable.

Note- depending on the type of internet services that user would access, the service's ports that they need to forward will differ.
Here are some steps to initiate port forwarding activities,
Step 1:
·         On your device or a system, launch a web browser such as Chrome or Internet Explorer
Step 2:
·         In the address bar on the top of the web page, type default Belkin wireless router password as “192.168.2.1” and then press enter button on your keyboard.
·         Then the user will get directed to the web-based setup page.
·         If you people have changed the default router’s IP address, use that address instead of this one to get access to the web-based setup page. But if you people are not clear about the address, check your router IP address before handed.
Step 3:
·         Then click login on the right corner on the top of the page.
Note: if your router web-based set up page does not look like the professional page of Belkin router page, and then refer Belkin Dashboard page.
Step 4:
·         One user is directed to the login page, enter the exact password and then click on submit button. In case if you have not set the custom password, then leave the password empty and click on submit button
Step 5:
·         In the navigation panel, under the firewall division, select virtual servers
Step 6:
After selecting the virtual servers, click on the enable box and just give the following information to initiate the port forwarding,
1.      Xbox1 field
·      Under Inbound port, type “80” on this field
·      Set the Protocol Type to TCP.
·      In the Private IP address field, type Xbox console's IP address and then enter the Private port information in the respective fields.
2.      Xbox2 field
·      Under Inbound port, type “88” on this field
·      Set the Protocol Type to TCP.
·      In the Private IP address field, type Xbox console's IP address and then enter the Private port information in the respective fields.
3.      Xbox3 field
·      Under Inbound port, type “3074” on this field
·      Set the Protocol Type to both since this port supports both TCP and UDP.
·      In the Private IP address field, type Xbox console's IP address and then enter the Private port information in the respective fields.
4.      Xbox4 field
·      Under Inbound port, type “53” on this field
·      Set the Protocol Type to both since this port also supports both TCP and UDP.
·      In the Private IP address field, type Xbox console's IP address and then enter the Private port information in the respective fields.
Step 7:
Click Apply changes to save the settings you have done.

Now you have successfully completed initiating the port forwarding
